Usually aristocracy is associated with beauty somewhere on a subconscious level. But this woman, although she was a born aristocrat, took the title and her unusual feature lightly.

Unlike many of her bearded colleagues, Baroness Sidonia de Barcy was actually a representative of a noble family. Sidonia was born on May 1, 1866 in Hungary. She grew up as a completely ordinary girl, then turned into a sweet young lady.

She remained this way until she gave birth to a son at the age of 19. Her son, Niku, was born a Lilliputian. And a couple of weeks after giving birth, the young mother began to develop some fuzz on her face. The hairs quickly became coarser and lengthened, and a few months later Sidonia acquired a full beard almost 25 centimeters long.

Sidonia's husband, Baron Antonio de Barsi, really liked his wife's bushy beard. He was proud of the unique appearance of his bearded wife and rejoiced in fame and glory. The Baron knew that he could make money from this, and actively developed the careers of Sidonia and his son. In pursuit of wealth and fame, the man moved his family to Western Europe in the 1890s, and the Troupe de Barsi began touring extensively with great success.

The troupe was, of course, unique, since it consisted entirely of members of one aristocratic family and was completely self-sufficient. She was shaped by a bearded lady of blue blood and a midget, as well as the baron himself. Weighing almost 180 kilograms, he was a very respectable fat man and showed himself to be such.

In 1903, the troupe traveled to the States and gained even greater fame in the Ringling Bros. circuses. and Campbell Bros.

In 1912, while wintering in Oklahoma, the baron fell ill and died. Sidonia continued to tour the country until she died on October 19, 1925 from complications related to diabetes. Even though she had remarried, the bearded lady Baroness Sidonia de Barcy asked that her ashes be buried next to the baron.

The last member of the family, Niku, continued to perform in America. After his father's death, he received the title of baron. Nikou was perhaps best known for performing at Coney Island as a magician. Ironically, having lost his family estate in a fire, Niku was never able to return to Hungary to officially claim his title.

Eventually, in 1932, the little baron moved to Enid, Oklahoma. There he was well known and loved by the locals for his card tricks, pigeons and faithful trained dog. Niku died in August 1976 at the age of 91, becoming the last member of an amazing family.
