In India, a train of 53 carriages loaded with crushed stone traveled 80 km without drivers. He was able to reach speeds of up to 100 km/h, but did not kill or injure anyone, writes The Times of India.

The incident occurred on Sunday during a crew change. A freight train of 53 wagons, heavily loaded with rubble, was traveling from Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab. At the Kathua interchange station, the train crew had to change.

The driver and assistant went out onto the platform, and the train took over and went downhill. Apparently, they forgot to put the handbrake on, reports The Times of India.

Railway officials were alerted along the entire route, and crossings in the area were placed under guard.

As a result, the heavy, uncontrollable train rushed past five stations without stopping, picking up speeds of more than 100 km/h.

It was intercepted in Punjab with the help of rubble from sandbags and wooden blocks on the tracks. They say there was also an uphill run, so they managed to slow down the train. No injuries or property damage were reported and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
