In Kazakhstan, a 63-meter tower with oil waste caught fire and collapsed

In the industrial zone of the city of Aktau, a 63-meter tower in which petrochemical waste was stored collapsed as a result of a fire. A video of the incident was published by local publics.
A tower with a diameter of five meters caught fire on Friday, February 16, at 11.55 on the territory of the Mangistau Industrial Park. The burning area was about 60 square meters.
30 personnel and six pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire from emergency situations. The cause of the fire is being investigated. There are no casualties or injuries.
The incident was commented on by Mangistau Industrial Park LLP. The company stated that the fire occurred during welding work. It is also reported that the tower previously contained chemical waste, but now it has allegedly been “removed from the column and removed.”
