Japanese Pure Men - Trash Samurai (6 photos)

A very stylish and positive movement in Japan, which you just want to join. Garbage samurai is when you, in a cool kimono and sticks with handles like katanas, take to the streets in a stylish search for... garbage.

The goal of the garbage samurai (or Gomi Hiroi, as they call themselves) is the same as that of our Clean Man - to remove garbage from the streets and, by their example, give an impetus to other people to also monitor cleanliness.

Only they were able to come up with such a fashionable ethnic style that everyone just wants to join them for fun.

Our Chistomen is somewhat similar in spirit to the hero from the Kik esa people

It all started with a small group of artists from Kyoto, Issey Ichidai Jidaigumi, who, in bright kimonos, very artistically “hunted” for street trash with a katana stick. They were just fun to watch.

Of course, they specialized in theatrical productions about samurai, they knew the old songs, the accent, and all the key poses. And holding a stick as if it were a real katana is a mandatory quality for an artist.

How epic they stand and move!

Have you heard how menacing samurai sound in historical films? With the same intonation, they snatch the garbage with a stick and shout “Who did this!”, “Those who have no morals must be punished.” They make a drama worthy of the historical vicissitudes of the Edo period from the garbage on the sidewalk.

This is all done with such style that it feels like there is a theatrical performance with free tickets taking place on the street.

A girl can also be a samurai. By the way, he has a funny denim kimono!

And their example turned out to be so contagious that branches of garbage samurai began to open in other cities in Japan.

Promotion of garbage collection

Japan is constantly working with the population to foster a culture of cleanliness. For example, it turns cleaning an area into a competition between teams. It's called Spo-Gomi, and there's even a winner's cup and a cash reward for the team.

Traditional wicker basket behind the back - authenticity

The winner is the one who collects the most garbage in his sector. Before the start of the competition, a draw is carried out so that cunning teams do not hide garbage bags in a secluded place in order to cheat.

There is even an anime about SpoGomi with epic poses and super-smart characters.

And the Garbage Samurai even recorded a popular single, “Song of Garbage,” which children sing when their teachers take them out to cleanup work.

Would you collect garbage like a samurai or is that doubly embarrassing? This would have suited me terribly at school! Turning a subbotnik into a fun game is brilliant!
