During a walk, the dog got into trouble - she fell through the ice on a pond and could not get out. The concerned owner watched her dog fade away before her eyes, but could not do anything...





While walking, a Pyrenean mountain dog named Belle got into trouble: she fell through the ice in a pond in the suburbs of Chicago, USA. The dog's owner, Rosanna, said that in the morning she was getting dressed while Belle was running in the backyard when she suddenly heard a heart-rending bark. She went to see what was happening - and saw that her pet was trapped in an ice trap.

"I got scared and started crying. For a minute I thought I was going to watch her just die in front of my eyes," the owner said.



Roseanne tried to go into the pond herself to save the dog, but she could have gotten herself hurt. In addition, the pond has a sandy bottom, which is impossible to walk on. After an unsuccessful attempt, she called 911, and a team of firefighters arrived to help the dog. By that time, Belle was already pretty tired of splashing around and trying to get out - she put her paws on the ice floe and lay motionless. It was cold outside and the poor thing was in icy water.





Firefighters acted quickly: one of the firefighters brought the dog safely to shore. Despite the fact that Belle stayed in the water for more than half an hour and risked getting hypothermia, everything worked out. The dog's health was fine. After being examined by a veterinarian, he and his owner returned home.

“If it weren’t for the firefighters, their skills and sensitivity to animals, my dog would have died,” said owner Belle.
