Marie Trintignant: the tragedy of a French beauty (9 photos)
The baby first appeared on the screen at the age of four. Marie played a role in the film "Mon amour, mon amour". Actually, the girl’s path was predetermined, because she was born into the family of director Nadine Trintignant and actor Jean-Louis Trintignant.
Then there were several more roles in the films of the mother and with the participation of the father. A breakthrough in his career was his role in the detective story “Black Series”. The roles in the films “Next Summer” and “Terrace” turned out to be no less striking.
In young age
It is not surprising that men paid attention to the bright girl. Marie threw herself into every new relationship as if into a pool. She was transformed and literally glowed with happiness. But all the novels turned out to be fleeting and unhappy. Children - four sons - became a reminder of them. But, having an easy character, the woman was able to maintain friendly relations with their fathers.

Despite caring for children, the period of the 90s became quite productive professionally for the actress. In 1988, she took part in Claude Chabrol’s project “A Woman’s Affair”, and four years later she played the main role in his film “Betty”.
"Terrace"
In 1990, she played in the drama “Summer Night on the Town.” Then there was the melodrama “Holiday” and the crime comedy “Tender Target”. Trintignant last appeared on screen in the film Janice and John. In between filming, the actress played in the theater.
"Betty"
Even during the filming of the film “Janis and John,” which tells the story of the life of the legendary Janis Joplin, Marie became interested in rock music, trying to better understand her heroine. Therefore, in the rock musician - member of the group “Black Desire” Bertrand Canta felt a kindred spirit. A relationship began between them, in which Marie got stuck with no way to get out.

In modern terms, Bertrand, whom journalists called exclusively a savage, was a typical abuser. He made every effort to ensure that relations with Marie's family - mother, father and brother - almost came to naught. He quickly drove all his friends away, but he tolerated his children with difficulty, mostly ignoring him.
The man sought to completely possess his beloved, controlled her life from start to finish, forbidding her to act in films that he rejected.

The woman in love considered this attitude to be a manifestation of some incredible love. This went on for seven years. In 2003, she was in Vilnius filming another film. That's where the tragedy happened.
Tired of the emotional swing, Marie took a break from the relationship. But the musician came to her, wanting to return her. One evening, during another showdown, Bertrand’s aggression reached its peak. Pumped up with alcohol, the man began to beat Marie.
Seemingly happy couple
She fell, hit her head and lost consciousness. After transferring the unconscious woman to the bed, the aggressor continued drinking. Marie was found by her brother in the morning. The actress was taken to Paris by plane, but the most complex operations carried out did not produce results. 5 days after the fatal blow, Trintignant died without regaining consciousness at the age of 41.
The punishment turned out to be ridiculously mild: the killer received only 8 years in prison. He hired excellent lawyers, and when making the decision, Marie’s poor health and the fact of alcohol consumption were taken into account. It turned out that this behavior was normal for the musician. He beat previous girlfriends and his wife.
For good behavior, the man was released on parole after four years. He was met by his first wife, who forgave both the betrayal and the beatings. Marie Trintignant found her final refuge in the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris.
