Sometimes grown children do not have enough words to express the gratitude they feel towards their parents - and then they come up with emotional gestures. So, one girl got ready to get married and gave her stepfather a special gift for Christmas, asking him to perform the wedding ceremony. She wrote him a letter so touching that it could melt any heart.

Shyla May got engaged to her fiancé Trevor Farrow. The lovers couldn't wait to share this news with the whole world, and they began planning their special day. The newlyweds wanted to invite their loved ones to the celebration so that everyone could feel the joy of their union. The couple came up with a brilliant idea - to have Shyla's stepfather officiate the wedding.

“When we were thinking about who to choose, firstly, we wanted this person to know us for a very long time, so that he could talk about our relationship, how it developed, and secondly, so that he would have wisdom so that he was married and knew what it takes to have a successful marriage. So it was an easy choice,” Trevor explained.

“You showed me the kind of man I deserve in my life. What a loving, patient and compassionate father should be like,” wrote Shayla in a touching letter

Was the decision spontaneous? In fact, Shyla was inspired by her friend, whose father not only walked the bride down the aisle, but also officiated at the wedding, making it special. Shyla knew that her stepfather Ralph would be perfect for this - he had been present at every important event in her life since she was six.

“It was such a touching, special and emotional experience. I knew right away that I wanted Ralph to do this for me because he was so involved in my life and was a father figure to me,” Shayla says. “It will mean everything.”

The video has racked up 2.9 million views on TikTok, touching hearts and bringing tears to millions of people.

The couple waited until Christmas to give Ralph a special gift. The man opened the box containing the letter. At first he joked that they wanted to invite him to be a bridesmaid. Then he thoughtfully asked if he could read it out loud, in case it was something personal.

“When I think about the wedding, the most important day of our lives, I reflect on our journey and who was instrumental in getting us to this point,” Ralph read from the letter. - Yes, we will be surrounded by friends, family, loved ones on the most beautiful day of our lives. But the most important person will be the person who marries us. We couldn't think of a more ideal candidate for this role. “You showed me what kind of person I deserve in my life,” the stepfather read, trying to hold back his tears. — What a loving, patient and compassionate father should be like. You helped us become closer to each other; you are the best second father to Trevor. We would be honored if you would marry us on our special day. We love you so much."

Touched by the gesture, Ralph could only say, “Thank you,” and hugged his daughter tightly. There was nothing to say - as a father, he did everything he could, and his girl grew up to be an amazing, compassionate and grateful woman. Every parent wants to protect their child and make sure they are loved every day just like they are. Luckily, Shyla found Trevor to make that wish come true, all thanks to Ralph, who showed her what a real man is.

Ralph was always involved in Shyla's life, trying to capture every important milestone

Not everyone is lucky enough to have loving parents, but Shyla won the cosmic lottery when her mom started dating Ralph. He came into their lives when she was only 6 years old, and since then he has tried to be the best father possible.

“He truly became the best father in the world. He was my softball coach. At any moment he could take part in my life, and he was there. He taught me to drive a car. He helped me get into college by helping me write essays,” she says.

This story proves that family is not blood. Family is love and devotion living in every cell of the body. For thatThere will definitely be a toast at Shyla and Trevor's wedding in September 2024 when Ralph walks his daughter down the aisle.
