Russian military personnel are increasingly using so-called “ponchos”, which prevent them from being identified by thermal imagers. One of these episodes is demonstrated by a Ukrainian sniper, specifying: “Only because of the contrast against the sky and the uncovered ponchos of the lower parts of the legs, it was possible to identify the person.”
