Buddhist monk beat up “possessed” parishioner (4 photos + 1 video)
In Thailand, a Buddhist monk kicked and beat a parishioner with a stick. The monk explained his action by saying that the man was possessed by evil spirits.
Users of social networks drew attention to a video in which several monks were tightly holding a certain man in a white shirt. Another monk brutally beat him with his feet and a stick, saying: “Go away! Get out! All this time the man was screaming in pain. Finally, he asked the monk to stop, thanked him and declared that the evil spirits had been driven out.
The video caused numerous negative reviews on social networks. People, in particular, wrote that Buddhist monks do not have the right to practice exorcism. Some even stated that such an execution is much more dangerous for a person than the demons that allegedly settled in his body.
Soon the video was commented on by a certain Kunkavi Srisiam, who turned out to be the same monk. He called himself a sorcerer and said that he had already renounced his rank.
Srisiam explained that the video was recorded in the spring of 2023, when he was serving as a monk. However, now he deals exclusively with exorcisms. In addition, the man said that the parishioner himself asked to expel evil from him, and the publication of the video was not intended.
Srisiam believes that the video was leaked online by one of his detractors who wanted to tarnish his reputation.
A self-proclaimed sorcerer has apologized for making Buddhist monks look bad. He explained that violence was necessary because the man was very strong, and his body was inhabited by “a lot of evil spirits.”
