Heartwarming footage of a calf being rescued from a pond (4 photos + 1 video)
On January 16, Oliver Reyes, an employee at Smokin' F BBQ & Feedlot in Philadelphia, Tennessee, rushed to rescue a calf from a pond.
The original rope rescue plan failed. The man had to wade through the ice, but in the end he managed to pick up the calf Wynonna and pull her to shore.
The restaurant owner confirmed that Reyes and the calf are now "warm and healthy."
The video of the brave rescue received more than 20,000 views in less than 24 hours. Social media users called Oliver a hero and praised the restaurant staff for saving the calf.
"Keep it up Oliver. He needs a big warm blanket and a big hug," is one of many good comments.
Philadelphia and other nearby cities were hit by storms and heavy snow this week. Due to bad weather, the owners of Smokin' F BBQ & Feedlot closed the establishment.
Wynonna is one of three calves at the farm at Smokin' F BBQ & Feedlot. Along with Wynonna, Willie and Hank, Reba the cow also lives here.
