And although the “Terminator” explained that he wanted to sell the accessory at a charity auction to be held after the World Climate Summit in Kitzbühel, Austria, he violated the rule for importing luxury goods into the country, and therefore was detained and fined.

"We have opened a criminal case in accordance with tax law. The watches had to be declared because we are talking about importation," said Thomas Meister, a spokesman for the Munich Customs Office.

The watch was valued at €26 thousand. To this amount was added a tax of €4 thousand and a fine of €5 thousand. The ex-governor of California wanted to pay the entire amount by credit card, but according to the rules, 50% of customs duties must be paid in cash, therefore, the actor had to go to the bank, where he was accompanied by a law enforcement representative.



After the formalities were settled, Schwarzenegger was free. This episode cost him €35k and a wagonload of wasted nerves. They say that Arnie even freaked out when he realized that the German customs officers were not impressed with his authority and were going to act according to the law.
