One Japanese fisherman caught an “alien” (2 photos + 1 video)
In the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Taiwan, fishermen accidentally caught several small sharks of an unknown species. The peculiarity of these sharks was their unusual jaw, which extended outwards and reminded everyone of the well-known film “Alien”.
The scary appearance of these sharks made up for their relatively small size. The largest individual was no more than fifty centimeters. The jaw of the unusual fish was long and very much like hooks, but the most interesting thing is that the jaw extended forward to its full length, which allowed this predator to swallow its prey whole, measuring almost forty percent of its own body.
It was also noted that the special difference between these terrible creatures was that they were ideally adapted for swallowing their prey whole, and not like other types of sharks, which first tear off a piece from their prey before swallowing.
There is almost no information about the lifestyle of Trigonathus kabeyai sharks. They are known to migrate from their usual depth of 300-400 meters to water layers about 150 meters from the surface during the night, only to then go back into dark waters. Unfortunately, 4 of the 5 specimens found were already dead, and the only living shark, although immersed in its usual cold water, died the very next day.
