A Japan Airlines passenger plane caught fire on the runway at Tokyo airport, NHK TV channel reported. According to an airline representative, there were 367 people on board, all of whom were evacuated.

The incident occurred right on the runway of Tokyo's Haneda Airport. This was reported by NHK TV channel.

According to JAL, the plane was traveling from the northern city of Sapporo to Tokyo.

Judging by footage from Japanese public television, one of the plane's engines caught fire, one of the airliner's wings was seriously burned, and the plane's engine rested on the ground.

According to NHK, according to video footage from airport cameras, the flames broke out at the moment of landing.

Later it became known that an Airbus A350-900 JAL collided while landing at Haneda airport (HND/RJTT) with a de Havilland DHC-8-315Q Dash 8 aircraft of the Japanese Coast Guard (c/n JA722A), which was based in Haneda.

According to news agencies citing Japan Airlines (JAL), all 379 people (367 passengers and 12 crew members) on board the A350 were able to evacuate. However, of the 6 crew members of the Coast Guard DHC-8 aircraft, only the captain of the aircraft was able to survive. The death of five crew members has already been confirmed by the NHK television channel.

And this is the situation on board a burning airliner. Truly an aerophobe's nightmare:

Judging by the footage, nothing remains of the plane. Sky News writes that it is "burning out and collapsing."

The Office of the Prime Minister of the country has established an emergency headquarters at the Crisis Management Center.

A Japanese Coast Guard plane that collided with a JAL passenger plane at Haneda International Airport also caught fire, the Kyodo news agency reported, citing Tokyo fire services.

According to coast guard officials, the plane was supposed to deliver emergency supplies to a base in Niigata to then transfer them to regions affected by a series of powerful earthquakes in Ishikawa Prefecture the day before.

And yes. Following today's horrific A350 crash in Japan, news and footage of the fire were shown to passengers on the next flight just before takeoff:

As a result, “everyone was divided into those frozen in shock and screaming in fear,” write the passengers of the flight in “X” (the plane, by the way, flew successfully).
