In Peru, one of the police went to arrest drug traffickers dressed as Santa Claus. 
In South America, police went on a Christmas operation to catch drug dealers. One of them was dressed as Santa Claus.
During the operation to detain the intruders, one of the law enforcement officers, dressed in a New Year's character costume, used a sledgehammer to knock down the door, after which his colleagues raided the premises and arrested the drug dealers. According to media reports, police confiscated 3,500 packages of cocaine paste, 287 packages of cocaine and 127 packages of marijuana. The suspects initially thought it was all a prank until police raided the house.
“The strategy turned out to be winning. Christmas has come to the Evil Deer,” Walter Palomino, head of the Green Squadron of the National Police, told reporters. One of the criminals was introduced to the public under the pseudonym “The Grinch.”
With an unusual raid, law enforcement officers wanted to attract public attention to their work and the problem of drug trafficking in the country. Law enforcement previously dressed as Thor, Spider-Man, Captain America and Black Widow during a November 2022 raid that resulted in the arrests of four members of a local drug gang in Lima.
