A man was evicted from his home after he stuffed raw octopus into his neighbor's mailbox (6 photos)

In one of the areas of Manchester (Great Britain) a real drama occurred. A 50-year-old man bullied an elderly neighbor for several years, mocked her and destroyed the flower garden that she had arranged in the yard in memory of her late husband. Thanks to a CCTV camera, his actions were recorded and became the basis for an injunction and eviction.

Former social worker Anthony Kenyon vandalized the home of neighbor Margaret Ilkovich, stuffing a raw octopus into her letterbox and splattering the house with raw eggs and cocoa powder. Margaret, 71, described her five-year feud with Anthony as “pure hell” but now that Kenyon has been evicted from her home in Salford, Greater Manchester, her “nightmare is over”.

Kenyon, 52, faced up to four years in prison after he admitted breaching a restraining order, but avoided jail time when he was given a 13-month suspended sentence. He was also given a new four-year restraining order and ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity.

Following the sentencing at Manchester Crown Court, Margaret said: “I am so happy he is no longer living next door to me and has been evicted. I can smile again and finally look forward to a Merry Christmas after all these years. But deep down I'm afraid that he will come back and everything will start all over again. However, I am relieved that justice has been served and he will no longer live next door to me. My nightmare is finally over. It was pure hell."

Kenyon argued that Margaret's memorial to her late husband Richard in the common garden at Regina Court was a safety breach. There was a willow tree growing there and under it there were bushes, flowers, decorations and a “memory box”. Kenyon uprooted a meter-long tree, killed the plants with weed killer and damaged decorations. He also wrote notes in which he claimed that Margaret married Richard, who died of cancer at the age of 55 in 2018, only for his money.

According to Margaret, Kenyon constantly "ranted and raved" about her. He also called an ambulance to her home, claiming that she allegedly had a severe mental disorder and needed to be “taken away.”

The quarrel broke out shortly after the same “memorable corner” with a flower bed appeared in the common garden, and in September 2018, Kenyon was convicted of harassment for the first time. He was re-sentenced in February 2019 and was given a two-year restraining order against Margaret in 2020, which he ignored.

Kenyon was arrested after a woman installed a surveillance camera that captured him attacking her home.

Margaret says her nightmare is now over

“He tormented me and haunted me day after day, night after night. It was real hell. I was a prisoner in my own home. I heard him knocking and shouting insults through the walls. I was afraid to leave the house because if I left, he would be waiting for me outside. I really wanted to end it and kill myself. It was terrible. I mourned my husband, I loved him with all my heart. In fact, it all started while Richard was alive. The neighbor was already tearing my flowers out of the ground. One day he threw a brush at my head. I was sincerely afraid that he would kill me or at least maim me. Several times he attacked me with sincere hatred and anger. He also attacked other neighbors, doused the gardens with petrol and picked locks. But they were afraid to report him if he attacked them.

Anthony Kenyon avoided jail but is now being evicted. This is a terrible thing - neighbor wars!
