The Kyoto Railway Museum has installed a transparent installation that allows you to see how the ticket machine works.

The installation is a copy of a real machine, but all its internal mechanisms are made of transparent plastic. This allows museum visitors to see how a ticket goes through all stages of processing:

First, the ticket is inserted into the receiver.

The ticket then goes through a scanner, which reads its details.

After this, the ticket goes into the printer, which prints the date and time of travel on it.

Finally, the ticket comes out of the machine and into the hands of the passenger.

The installation is very popular among museum visitors. It allows them to learn more about the operation of ticket machines and see how they work from the inside.
