Yeferson Cossio spent thousands of dollars on surgery to add another 15 cm to his height. On his social network page, the Colombian admitted to 11 million subscribers that he underwent the most painful procedure of his life.

Yepherson Cossio spent $175,000 on lower limb lengthening surgery

The blogger shared a video in which he explained: "I'm not a dwarf and I'm not the tallest. Yes, my legs are beautiful, but I hate them... I, like almost all people, am embarrassed about some parts of my body, and I have a couple hundred million pesos to fix it."

The Colombian also shared that the operation was done solely for “aesthetic” purposes, and recalled: “Two years ago I had a problem with my legs, which I don’t want to talk about because it’s very personal...”

Before surgery, the 29-year-old man's height was 177 cm

In the future, he will have to undergo physical therapy to get used to walking on his new legs.

Limb lengthening surgery is a procedure that gradually makes an arm or leg bone longer. This is how skeletal dysplasia, bone growth problems and differences in bone length are treated.

The operation itself consists of two main stages: osteotomy, that is, cutting the bone into two segments and attaching a device to them to lengthen the limb.

"Yes, my legs are beautiful, but I hate them..."

Surgeons inserted adjustable telescopic rods into the shins and gradually twisted them, thereby lengthening the legs.

Since bone grows at a rate of one millimeter per day, this means Yepherson suffered for 152 days before reaching his new height of 192 cm.

"I even have patients who are 60 to 65 years old come to me for this procedure because the 'shorty' jokes won't stop and they feel inadequate," said Dr. Shahab Mahboubian, a surgeon at the Leg Lengthening Institute in Burbank. , California.

A 26-year-old man named Alex explained why he also decided to have the operation: “Short men are often talked down to. I didn’t have a goal to become tall. I wanted to be so that no one would pay attention to my height.”

Although the surgery comes with its own risks, including nerve damage and loss of mobility, Alex was pleased with his experience: “The recovery is behind me and I feel amazing.”

In the future, Yefferson will have to undergo physical therapy.

Last year, psychologists published the results of a study that included residents of the United States, Canada, Cuba and Norway. It turned out that tall men more often choose short partners, and women choose tall men.
