A brave woman and her two husbands (8 photos)
When lovers pronounce their marriage vows at the altar and promise to be with each other in sickness and in health until death do them part, it looks very touching. But life sometimes makes significant adjustments, and you have to get out of current situations in an unconventional way.
This woman told her story to the Daily Mail. Chris Armstrong and Brandon Smith from Texas started dating in high school. And they got married after their 21st birthday. But fate gave the newlyweds only two years of happy life.
Happy couple
As Chris was driving home from work that day in 2008, she received a call. And they reported that the husband had been in an accident and was between life and death. The woman rushed to the hospital, but did not have time to find Brandon conscious: he fell into a coma. And he came out of it only two months later, but already a completely different person.
The consequences of severe traumatic brain injury took their toll. There was no chance that the man would return to normal life. But Chris was still very young, she wanted a family and children. With a disabled husband, all this could be forgotten. But she could not abandon to the mercy of fate the one with whom she promised to be in sickness and in health.
And she decided to divorce, after which she took custody of her now ex-husband. Chris visited Brandon every day, monitored the progress of treatment, and dealt with all financial issues.
When the judge asked at the last court hearing what would happen when she had a family, Chris replied that nothing would change for Brandon. The woman kept her word.
Everything has changed
After 6 years, she met single father James. And she immediately warned that she also had a lifelong responsibility. But this is not a child, but an adult, and also her ex-husband. The chosen one was intrigued, but realized that his possible new girlfriend was a very kind person for deciding to do such a thing.
James and Brandon
When the men met, Brandon invited his ex-wife's new boyfriend to drink beer. And Chris had hope that everything would be fine.
Chris and James got married a year later. And Brandon has a new friend and protector. And not alone: the couple had children who perceive Brandon as an uncle and, to the best of their ability, also take care of him.
When Chris shared her story on social networks, she was bombarded with gratitude and other life stories. The woman believes that it is necessary to talk about such things, because this is perhaps the easiest way to share hope.
