India is a mysterious country with a specific flavor. Therefore, even the murders here are tried to be framed accordingly.

In the village of Adheigaon in Ganjam district of Odisha, there lived a young family. I've lived quite well since 2020. Until its head, 25-year-old Ganesh Patra, decided to get rid of his 23-year-old wife Basanti Patra and their two-year-old daughter Debasmita. With someone else's hands, or rather, not even hands.

One of the state's villages

The tragedy occurred on October 6. A cobra snuck into the bedroom where the young woman and child were and bit them. Frightened Patra called doctors, but despite the measures taken, it was not possible to save the victims.

Relatives of the victims suspected something was wrong and insisted on an investigation. Quite specific, since they even brought in a representative of an unusual profession - a snake charmer.

King Cobra

The bites on the bodies of the victims were distinguished by a strange arrangement. They were on their feet, in the same places. In addition, the specialist noted the non-standard behavior of the snake. A wild cobra usually leaves the premises after a bite. He suggested that the deceased were exposed to some kind of sedatives before their death. Because when it enters the body, the poison causes severe pain, and people had to fight and scream.

The investigation lasted almost a month. After which Ganesh was accused of murder and taken into custody. At first, the Indian played the grief-stricken father and husband. But under the weight of evidence, including testimonies of neighbors who heard screams of a quarrel on the eve of death, he gave up.

And he admitted that he had acquired the snake himself. Under the guise of carrying out religious rituals, but in reality he decided to get rid of his family for a reason as old as time - for the sake of money. According to the insurance, he was supposed to receive compensation in the amount of 800 thousand rupees for the death of his relatives.

He allegedly acquired the snake for a religious ritual. He launched the reptile into the room where his wife and child were sleeping, and he lay down in another. The police are checking the involvement of third parties in the tragedy, namely the seller of the snake regarding knowledge of the buyer's intentions.

The chilling story amazes with its cynicism. After all, the killer snake acted only as a tool and acted in accordance with its nature. The tragedy also makes us think about tightening controls on the sale of animals not only in India, but throughout the world.
