Citroen has unveiled the new generation C3 for the European market. The five-door was transferred to a new platform and the exterior and interior architecture were radically rethought, and the C3 debuts in Europe as an electric car with a starting price of only 23.3 thousand euros or 2.4 million rubles. In the future, the C3 will have modifications with a conventional gasoline engine and manual transmission.
The driver's part of the interior received an unusual multi-layer solution: the front panel consists of three “floors”, while the compact instrument screen is placed at the very top and installed almost close to the windshield. The diagonal of the central display will be 10.5 inches, but it will appear only in the top-end configuration. The basic version has a smartphone holder with the ability to connect to the on-board speaker system.
The new Citroen will launch in the eC3 version with a single 113-horsepower engine on the front axle. The acceleration time to 100 km/h is 11 seconds, and the range thanks to the 42-kilowatt lithium iron phosphate battery is up to 320 kilometers. It will be possible to recharge the battery from 20 to 80% from a powerful station in 26 minutes, from a household network - in 4 hours.
In 2025, a modification with a smaller battery and a power reserve of about 200 kilometers will enter the European market. It will cost, as expected, 19.9 thousand euros, which will make the eC3 one of the most affordable electric vehicles in Europe. In addition, the new Citroen should receive a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine with 100 hp. in combination with a manual transmission or a “robot”, but the timing of the appearance of such a version has not yet been announced. Accepting orders for the battery modification will open early next year.
