Construction kit for assembling a radio-controlled Mercedes-AMG One model (8 photos)
Chinese toy manufacturer CaDA, together with Mercedes-Benz, presented a 3295-piece construction kit for self-assembly of a Mercedes-AMG One car on a 1:8 scale. The “toy” is able to move and open doors using a remote control.
The Mercedes-AMG One hypercar took a long time to become a reality due to a number of development delays. Deliveries to customers have already begun, and the car has already appeared on the roads. Now the company has taken a Formula 1-powered hypercar, shrunk it down to 1:8 size and created a remote-controlled model of it.
The scale model was brought to life by designer BrunoJJ1 and CaDA. He assembled the model from 3,295 building blocks that recreate the car's bold appearance. CaDA produces blocks very similar to Lego Technic.
The attention to detail is so impressive that the model even includes front air dams on the side panels, a large aerodynamic shark fin and 10-spoke Michelin wheels. The model has a length of 57 cm, a width of 24.5 cm and a height of 16 cm.
The CaDA team developed an electric powertrain for the model, with a two-speed gearbox that allows the One hypercar to move forward, backward and left to right using the included remote control. Doors can also be opened at the touch of a button. The large rear spoiler can also be controlled via remote control, and the engine even has pistons that can move.
The set was priced at $275.
