A football referee was suspended from a match for refusing to shake hands with his assistant.
It turns out that in any incomprehensible situation a man can be accused of sexism.
Gender relations in modern football increasingly resemble an absurd comedy. Not long ago, the head of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, was removed from his post and a criminal case was opened for kissing a football player after the final of the Women's World Cup. Rubales was targeted for sexual assault and sexism. And a few days ago, Italian judge Juan Luca Sacchi was accused of sexism for the opposite gesture. The referee simply did not shake the hand of his assistant (linesman) before entering the field.
The incident occurred on October 6 before the Lecce and Sassuolo teams entered the match.
The most progressive ones unanimously shouted that the referee was a sexist, he humiliated the assistant by shaking hands only with men. Fortunately, the Italian Association of Referees did not notice the humiliation of the female linesman and noted that Juan Luca Sacca acted according to the rules of football protocol (referees greet each other only on the field).
"Sexist implications in this situation must be absolutely excluded. It was simply an involuntary and misinterpreted gesture. It is rather surprising that we are talking about sexism within an association that has made the destruction of all gender barriers one of its main goals," the Italian Association of Arbitrators said .

Nevertheless, the Italian referee did not go without punishment. He was suspended from the next Serie A match, apparently so that the loudest crowd would cool down a little.
