Wave hits curious tourists in China
In China, a wave almost washed away numerous tourists into the river. The brave souls gathered in the coastal area to watch the tides and wanted to take memorable photographs, but underestimated the power of the wave.
The water disaster struck numerous tourists in the picturesque coastal tide observation area in the village of Yangguang (Haining County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, China).
“The average tide speed of the Qiantang River can reach 5-7 meters per second. If you get washed away, your chances of survival are negligible. Be careful and do not approach less than five meters from the fence while observing the picturesque phenomenon,” reads the message to visitors located at the entrance to the protected area.
However, few heeded the appeal. Fortunately, none of the tourists were seriously injured.
