The Indian Space Agency showed the first footage of the moon taken by the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft (2 photos + 1 video)
This month we will find out if India will become the fourth country that successfully landed a spacecraft on a satellite Earth. The previous attempt ended in failure.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) published the first video from the instruments of the automatic lunar station "Chandrayan-3", made on August 5 when entering the circumlunar orbit. IN glued from a series of photographs, a video clip shows a part of the body of the device and huge craters covering the surface of the moon.
The Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission launched on July 14 from the cosmodrome on the island of Sriharikota. Landing of the apparatus on a natural satellite of the Earth scheduled for August 23-24.
This is the third lunar mission of India and the second attempt make a soft landing on the moon. The first apparatus ("Chandrayan-1") ceased operations in lunar orbit in 2009. Second lunar mission shipped in 2019 and intended to land on the surface satellite of the Vikram module, failed. And if at the end of August "Chayandran-3" will be able to successfully deliver an autonomous device to the satellite, India will become the fourth country in the world, after the USSR, the USA and China, which it succeeded. But it will also be the first country to succeed to land near the little-studied south pole of the Earth's satellite.
