Tailed thief-recidivist three times robbed a store in China
CCTV footage from a grocery store in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China on July 10 shows the primate loitering at the entrance of the store before quickly grabbing the goods from the basket by the door and fleeing in an unknown direction. .
An hour later, the impudent monkey returned to the scene of the crime. This time, she didn't pick up the goods right away. Instead, the tailed thief hesitantly entered and then exited the store, and after waiting for a while at the entrance, looked around the area before carefully parting the curtain on the door to escape again with the stolen goods.
A few hours later, the monkey returned to the trading establishment for the third time and stole another batch of snacks.
In each case of theft, store employees only realized what had happened after the wild animal had run off with the food.
According to the shop owner, the clever thief is a monkey from Qianling Mountain, a species of animal that is under state protection.
Since the food stall is located near a hill, it is often visited by wild monkeys.
“This is not the first time this has happened. Every year, when it gets warmer, the monkeys come down from the mountains. They are very smart and choose foods according to their taste. If they are driven away, they will definitely return until they get what they want.
Despite the frequent cases of shoplifting, snacks stolen by monkeys are of little value. Faced with such circumstances, the staff keep their distance trying to drive the monkeys away to avoid injury,” the shop owner told local media.
