Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority Comptroller Amit Saini has died after being hit by the tail rotor blades of a helicopter in Kedarnath while on an audit and inspection assignment. The incident occurred when Saini attempted to board a Kestrel Aviation helicopter from the wrong side of the GMVN helipad. Despite being ordered by the pilot to land from the other side, Shiny entered the tail rotor area, resulting in serious neck injuries and died on the spot. An investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident has been launched. The incident highlights the importance of following safety instructions when boarding a helicopter and the need for strict adherence to safety protocols in the aviation industry.
