A resident of the UK decided to grow the most dangerous plant in the world at home, but the authorities did not agree with him (4 photos)
A small and pretty bush of Dendrocnide moroides grows in Indonesia, Australia and a number of tropical islands. Literally translated as a "stinging tree" and for good reason.
The fact is that this plant is terribly toxic, one touching it guarantees a chemical burn, forcing a person suffer from pain for several months, and animals die altogether from pain shock.
D. Moroides is considered the most poisonous plant in Australia and one of the most poisonous in the world. And all the toxins are hiding in thin and very fragile "hairs" that cover the entire bush. Any careless movement and thousands of these "hairs" instantly dig into the victim, causing her severe pain. They can stay on human skin up to a year, repeatedly causing pain when touching the skin, contact with water or temperature changes.
Recently, scientists have discovered that its toxin bears a strong resemblance to the venom of spiders and scorpions.
In an article for The Conversation, plant expert Dr. Marina Hurley compared contact with a bush with “a sting of 30 wasps at the same time” or “as if you were burned with hot acid and hit current at the same time." Even just standing next to him is dangerous, he can cause sneezing, nosebleeds and damage to the airways.
It was this bush that a resident decided to grow at home Great Britain. He bought the seeds via the Internet, and explained a strange act is simply ingenious:
I just thought it would add a bit of drama to my gardening, and I'm sick of regular plants.
The authorities found out about this and the bush was taken away from sin away to section "Poisonous plants" of the botanical garden. Now it's simple for some reason, the British are outraged and say that this is a bad idea.
