Tank for oil products exploded in Tatarstan, two people died

Yesterday, June 30, on the territory of the oil and gas production department "Elkhovneft" in the village. Old Mavrino (Zainsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan) the reservoir exploded. The blast wave ripped off the lid of the container. This moment was caught on video.

It is known that the tank was empty, and the workers who died during the emergency were engaged in cleaning it.

The fire was reported to the point at 10:21 Moscow time, and at 11.01 the fire was completely extinguished. According to the preliminary version, the explosion occurred due to the ingress of oxygen into the tank, which, when interacting with chemical residues, led to the ignition of pyrophoric deposits. The dead - the head of the site and the operator - examined the tank, making measurements of bottom sediments. The explosion happened when they, having closed the hatch, began to descend the stairs.

On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of industrial safety requirements, resulting in the death of two persons through negligence").
