In the US, a robber tried to hide his appearance with a cardboard box, but still caught himself

In Miami, USA, a security camera in a store captured a man who chose a strange disguise. The attacker decided to rob a retail outlet with a box on his head.

The strange incident happened around 4:00 am. The thief managed to get away first with 19 iPhones and $8,000 in cash for a total of $15,000, store owner Jeremias Berganza told NBC.

The captured footage shows a man with a white box on his head trying to break a glass display case in which phones were displayed.

After the first unsuccessful attempt, he still manages to break the top of the display case, after which he immediately proceeds to shovel the phones into a bag.

Due to the location of the security camera, it was impossible to see the perpetrator's face until he lifted the box for a moment to get a better look at the phones he was taking.

Berganza said he shared footage of the theft with people working at the mall where his store is located, asking everyone to remember the thief's face.

The man was later found drinking at a local liquor store with friends and was later arrested by Miami Gardens cops called to the mall.
