One billion counterfeit US dollars seized in Turkey

The money was intended for import to African countries. The Gendarmerie Department seized 10 million hundred-dollar bills in a warehouse in one of the districts of Istanbul.
According to police, six people were detained in the raid, including citizens of Sweden, Britain and Ghana. During a search of the houses where the intruders lived, large sums of money (real) and jewelry were found.
It was stated that the consulates of the countries had been informed of the suspects and it was emphasized that the seized counterfeit money was the largest amount of counterfeit money ever seized in Turkey's history.
