The film crew fell under a mudflow in Dagestan
Filmmakers from the "Slovo Film Studio" went to Dagestan to work on a new series - and found themselves in the epicenter of the disaster.
The places near the Gunibsky waterfall in Dagestan are stunningly beautiful, but also harsh. Locals know how quickly the weather changes in the mountains, and how insidious even small clouds can be at first glance. It is not for nothing that the location near the Big Gunibsky waterfall was not considered ideal for filming. It is difficult to get there, because the place is located behind high mountains, and if something happens, it will not be easy to get out of there either.
But the Slovo Film Studio film crew decided to shoot some of the series' scenes there - and got hit by a mudflow. On the third day of shooting, it began to rain, and then the mudflow began. A group of 150 people was not ready for such tests.
As reported in the media, during the mudflow, 10 people were injured, receiving injuries of varying severity. However, a rebuttal followed. Say, filmmakers escaped with a small fright. It's just that the road was washed out and cut off the film crew from civilization. I had to send technicians to help, but none of the film crew contacted the doctors.
Earlier, in 2021, tourists disappeared in the same Gunib district due to heavy rain and mudflow. In a tour group traveling around Dagestan, two men were then washed away by streams of water.
