Restyling should spur market interest in the car, produced since 2018, but turned out to be quite modest in scale. "Tuareg" corrected appearance, improved multimedia and reconfigured suspension. The price in Germany starts at 69,200 euros. 
The lighting technology of the updated Touareg received L-shaped elements both in headlights and lanterns, while both front and rear appeared light stripes. The rear logo will be illuminated - Touareg has become the first VW model in Europe with this solution.
The head optics is completely new and is called IQ.Light HD. It is built on the same principle that is used in the headlights. updated Porsche Cayenne: each headlight consists of almost 20 thousand microdiodes. The light beam is formed more precisely and provides more high-quality lighting without blinding oncoming drivers.
Improved bumpers and grille, proposed new wheel design options up to 22 inches (for R-versions). pendants, both standard spring and optional pneumatic, retuned for greater driving comfort. Touareg saved the possibility of using active stabilizers and a fully controlled chassis with swivel rear wheels. Another innovation is the load sensor on roof, the data of which is used in its work by the exchange rate system sustainability.
The concept of the Innovision Cockpit in the cabin has also been preserved. The updated crossover comes with two large screens by default. 12.3" for dashboard and 15" for media systems. However, thanks to a software update the system has gotten smarter. For example, navigation can now work with high resolution maps, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are no longer need wires, and the functionality of the voice assistant has been improved. There are more efficient USB ports for charging gadgets.
Changes in the engine range have not yet been reported. After ditching the V8 diesel in 2020, the Touareg only comes with 6-cylinder engines in different versions. For example, basic petrol develops 340 hp. s., diesel six - 231 or 286 forces. There are also hybrid options. One of them will provide 381 hp. With., the other - already 462 forces. The most powerful power plant is a privilege a special version called R eHybrid, but the Tuareg has more available R-line version. All engines are accompanied by an 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
Given VW's electrification course, the current update Touareg may be the last for a crossover with traditional motors. They don’t speak directly about the fate of the model yet, but it is possible that in a few years it will be replaced by a battery-powered SUV. In the current Volkswagen plans to bring the Passat station wagon to the market and seriously updated Tiguan, which will also be the last in their families ICE models. Next - only electric traction.
