Saturday night at the Premium Outlets in Texas was extremely dangerous.
An armed man in a black uniform without identification signs opened fire on visitors to the shopping center under the open sky north of Dallas, Texas.
The sprawling mall has around 120 stores and is said to be usually very busy on weekends.
Police officials said they found seven bodies on scene of the tragedy, nine more people were taken to hospitals, where two later died. According to the authorities, the age of the hospitalized victims varies from 5 to 61 years.
Allen Police Chief Brian Harvey told how he was shooter killed. "One of our officers was on the phone in mall,” Harvey said. "He heard the shots, went to shooting, engaged the suspect and neutralized the suspect."
According to CNN, the perpetrator was armed with an AR-15 and wore a bulletproof vest with several additional magazines, attached to the breastplate.
Mass shootings become commonplace in the US: in 2023 at least 198 of them were registered, which is the maximum indicator since at least 2016, according to the Archive of Violence since use of firearms.
