Another freight train derailed in the USA
Some of the overturned wagons contained dangerous goods. The inhabitants of America from such news will soon begin a nervous tic.
A dozen wagons of a freight train overturned in the US state of Wisconsin. According to operational services, the accident occurred due to soil erosion - the Mississippi River stretches on both sides of the railroad tracks.
It is noteworthy that in some of the overturned cars there was again a dangerous cargo - paint and lithium-ion batteries. However, as officials assure, only two wagons, in which there was no cargo threatening nature, got into the river. This was announced by the Crawford County Emergency Management Specialist, quoted by CNN.
We have been advised that there was hazardous material on the train itself, but this is not believed to be of concern to the public or first responders at this time as these carriages have been isolated.
Rescuers are currently on the scene. There were no casualties, according to preliminary data.
Note that railroad accidents in America occur with frightening regularity. In mid-April, a train derailed in Maine. In early March, 20 wagons overturned in Ohio, leaving 1,500 local residents without power; at the end of March, 14 tanks of ethanol and corn syrup went off the tracks in Minnesota and caught fire. In early February, a serious accident occurred in Ohio with 50 wagons containing toxic chemicals. The incident was even dubbed "Chernobyl Light". Thanks to him, train incidents are now more actively covered in the American press, as the public fears that another train and its cargo that have gone off the tracks can literally poison their lives.
