The Japanese first showed the inside of the reactor nuclear power plant "Fukushima" (2 photos + 1 video)
The video shows the deposits of nuclear fuel and the base reactor with bare reinforcement - concrete, as experts explained, melted by temperature.
Japanese power company Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) in as part of a recent study released a video from the inside the first reactor of the emergency nuclear power plant "Fukushima". This is the first significant research of the reactor after the accident in 2011.
On the frames taken by a special robot, under the reactor the installation shows deposits of decomposed nuclear fuel with a thickness about half a meter. The deposits are a mixture of fuel and debris reactor. And the digital noise that can be seen in the frames indicates high levels of radiation, TEPCO explained.
It was possible to visually establish that the concrete base reactor completely collapsed, exposing the armature. It is noted that the remaining structure may be unstable to seismic activity.
The Fukushima accident happened in March 2011. Then after strong earthquake, a powerful tsunami hit the nuclear power plant, which brought failure of the power supply and cooling system of the station. This provoked a series of explosions, after which in the reactors of three power units melted nuclear fuel. It burned through the protective shell and a large volume of radioactive substances was released.
The catastrophe that happened was then awarded the highest (seventh) danger level according to the International Nuclear Event Scale (INES). IN about 20,000 people died as a result of the earthquake, tsunami and accident at a nuclear power plant Human.
