Two people died during a fire in a hot air balloon (2 photos + 1 video)

The horrific accident took place at the popular archaeological site of Teotihuacan in Mexico.





The family decided to celebrate their mother's birthday in a special way. Viridiana Becerril celebrated her 39th birthday with a hot air balloon ride. The woman was accompanied by 50-year-old husband José Nolasco and a 13-year-old daughter. Flight over the local pyramids was a standard entertainment among tourists and visitors. On weekends early in the morning, they rise into the sky at the same time several dozen hot air balloons controlled by pilots private commercial companies.

At 8 a.m. local time, the balloon took off from ground and began to climb. A few minutes later, eyewitnesses noticed that the basket was engulfed in flames and the cries of people were heard. Father and mother died, but the girl managed to jump out of great height. She is currently in the hospital with numerous burns and a broken arm. The fate of the pilot so far unknown, his body could not be found at the site of the fall of the remains ball.

According to preliminary information, the cause of the tragedy was a malfunction in the fuel storage system.
