Drunken killer returned to the scene of the crime, let the police know and received a life sentence
Well done, you've come!
The court of the British city of Chelmsford on March 14 sentenced the most "brilliant" criminal of our time. So brilliant that the police did not even have to investigate - he did everything for them.
On the night of July 25, 2022, 44-year-old Adrian Elengford was stabbed to death in his own bed. The next morning, a heavily drunk man with a bottle of brandy in his hands approached the house where the experts were examining the crime scene. To the question of a policewoman on duty at the entrance about what a passerby was looking for here, he foolishly replied that he knew about what had happened here last night.
Drunk and intemperate in language, the man boasted to the policeman that without him the investigators would not know anything. And when he realized that he had pierced, he tried to justify himself by saying that he allegedly saw the person who committed the murder. Then Ostap suffered completely and he said that he really didn’t know anything and began to behave aggressively, declaring to the law enforcement that this f***ing city belongs to him.
Of course, after such an interesting conversation, the man could not help but be taken to the department and made the main suspect. Three days later, 26-year-old Marek Geko confessed to the crime.
However, even without the criminal's idiotic behavior, the case would have been solved fairly quickly. It turned out that Gecko had killed his girlfriend's new boyfriend, with whom she was sleeping in the same bed at the time of the murder. She did not have time to notice the killer, Gekko stabbed Elangford twice with a kitchen knife and quickly ran out of the house. However, after the break in relations, the future killer began to behave inappropriately - he pursued his former partner and, without an invitation, came to her home and work. Therefore, after examining the crime scene and questioning the girl in a few hours at most, he would have become and so became the main suspect. But why complicate the work of the police, when you can come to the crime scene?
A jury in one day decided the fate of the suspect. Gecko was found guilty and sent to jail for life - according to the British media, at least 26 years.
