March 6, 1981 On the third day of the trial, Marianne Bachmeier smuggled a Beretta 70 into the Lübeck courtroom and shot her daughter's killer, Klaus Grabowski, in the back, who pleaded guilty. Bachmeier fired 8 times, 7 bullets hit Grabowski, killing him almost instantly.
