Nepalese under the nickname awdoutdoor went hiking on the mountain Manaslu is the eighth highest peak in the world. He took with him the faithful companions - their dogs, making amazing shots along the way. Together they covered a distance of 177 kilometers in 16 days. Let's look at a small travel photo report!
The blogger awdoutdoor lives in Kathmandu, the capital Nepal. Trekking and hiking is one of the most popular local directions. Once the guy noticed that many people take with them on hikes dogs - and decided to introduce his pussies to this.
"I have been preparing my dogs for this alpine hike around the eighth highest mountain in the world - Manaslu. We started with short walks together, and I quickly realized that they love nature. AND Finally, we are on our way! To get to the starting point, we We traveled all day by bus. We walked 16 days in a row, overcoming 177 kilometers and passing a mountain pass with a height of 5 thousand meters," - said master.
While preparing for a big hike in the Himalayas, a guy took his dogs on weekly day hikes in Kathmandu. He also consulted a specialist who explained how to prepare dogs, and features of their breathing during adaptation to altitude.
"In Nepal we live at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level. During preparation, we gradually increased our hikes to a height 2700 meters, overcoming distances of 25 kilometers.
When the owner finally set off with the dogs on a big hike in Himalayas, they started from Serang Monastery, where they spent two days. One of the dogs, the golden retriever Charlie, the paw was damaged - rather just after being bitten by a leech. But literally in these couple of days he recovered, and continued the journey.
"The locals at our track were very welcoming. They often asked if my dogs eat rice and offered treats. Them it was amazing to see dogs on such a difficult path, and also, they admired my husky named Fluffy,” said the owner.
In the end, the trip ended successfully - and for the dogs it was whole incredible adventure. According to the owner, during the trip dogs slept a lot - they needed rest time between impressions and load. In 16 days they passed the most beautiful places, glacial lakes, local colorful settlements, saw traces of local culture and got to know the residents.
Of course, trekking at such a high altitude can be dangerous if the dog is not trained. Dogs need training and they must be acclimatized. The owner must constantly monitor the condition of the pets and monitor any alarming symptoms - if such appear, it is necessary to suspend the campaign or even to go back down to show the animal to the doctors. It is very important that the process of adaptation was slow.
