Quirky British 'House in the Clouds' turns 100 (4 pics)
100 years ago in the village of Thorpeness in Suffolk, a new water tower that has been specially designed to to match the rustic aesthetic of the village.
The water tower was built in 1923 to receive water from a nearby windmill, but the village had a special aesthetic in Tudor style, which the locals sought to preserve.
The water tower became redundant in 1977 when the village gained access to centralized water supply, and two years later the water tank at the top has been dismantled so that the entire building can be was converted into housing.
The house has five bedrooms, there is a sofa bed if you need extra bed, and three bathrooms are enough to avoid morning arguments about who should brush their teeth next.
The house also has a games room, living room, dining room, kitchen and an observation deck so you can stand among the clouds (not really) and enjoy the surroundings.
