Extreme rock climber climbs a tall crane in Dubai disguised as a worker (5 photos + 1 video)

21-year-old Briton Adam Lockwood, known by his nickname Nuisance, adept at Free Climbing. He climbs on the tallest buildings in the world without the use of special climbing equipment and in the process shoots a video of his exploits.

So, in June last year, Lockwood, disguised as a worker, climbed onto a 390-meter crane in Dubai.

The idea turned out to be doubly dangerous when the guy discovered that the crane coated with building grease. And this meant that his arms and legs began to slide.

Nuisance posted the heartbreaking footage to YouTube (the video has now been removed for violating the terms of the service).

Here is a small cut from the video that gives an idea of how high he climbed

Lockwood said that they tried to stop him while he was going upstairs, but he pretended to be a worker.

"I didn't want to climb 77 floors in 45-degree heat. I I didn't think anyone would be on the lift,” he explained. - This person started yelling at me in Arabic. With the help of Google Translate, I tried to explain to him that he worked at this site and forgot something upstairs (it was clear that this is a lie, but it's always worth a try). He pointed me to the stairs and demanded to go down it. Seeing that I went down one flight, he was gone. And I moved to the opposite ladder and continued to climb.

Rising, he periodically heard the voices of the workers and hid, changing stairs. This had to be done eight times in two hours until he rose.

"When I reached the top, I realized that I only took one battery GoPro and it was 20 percent charged, which meant I could only take a few minutes to shoot," Lockwood said. And he shot a few breathtaking shots: how he climbs a metal structure, hangs on one arm, throws his legs over the bar and hangs up feet.

Returning from a height to a safe place, the extreme admitted that even for him it is too much and he does not plan sometime in the future repeat this terrible rise.

"The fact that I hung from the highest crane in Dubai next to the highest tallest building in the world is something special and I feel it definitely worth the risk and legal repercussions if I got caught—” he said. — I put on a helmet to blend in with the crowd as I passed 100 workers, and quietly slipped out through the back gate. Climbing up boom, I quickly realized that the entire crane was covered in grease. First I I thought it was dust from the desert, but it was grease. My legs and arms slithered over everything I touched."

"This is what I can do, what I can do, and what 99 percent of people in the world can't and never will, that's why I feel obligated to use their abilities and enjoy it in progress,” Lockwood added. I like to see things from above, I I like it when my body hangs hundreds of meters in the sky, I likes to penetrate somewhere to achieve these goals, and this is what has kept me alive since I started and I don't think I will refuse it."

And he didn't refuse. Since then, the "free climber" managed to put some more extreme records. It is also known that in September 2022, he was detained for climbing the London skyscraper The Shard, tallest building in the UK and Western Europe.
