The All-Union Pioneer Organization named after V.I. Lenin is a mass children's communist organization in the USSR. It was formed by the decision of the All-Russian Komsomol Conference on May 19, 1922. Until 1924, the pioneer organization bore the name of Spartak, and after Lenin’s death it received his name. It originated from the scout movement, but differed from it in significant aspects: the system was of an all-encompassing state nature and aimed at the ideological continuity of the Communist Party and the Soviet state.

Some photos and comments:

According to a sociological survey conducted on the eve of the 85th anniversary of the pioneer organization, about 40% of Russians believe that it is necessary to recreate it, 45% believe that it is necessary to create another unified children's organization, and only 9% of residents of the Russian Federation believe that such a structure is not needed at all . The All-Union Pioneer Organization was dissolved in the early 1990s. However, almost immediately after the dissolution, attempts to revive the pioneers began in the country. Currently, pioneer organizations exist in many regions of Russia, and their number ranges from several tens to tens of thousands of people.

The main disadvantage of the pioneer organization is now called over-organization and formalism. However, many Russians note that it was the pioneers who taught them to be proud of their country, to be responsible for their actions and to be responsive to those who need help.

Soviet pioneers maintained friendly relations with their peers from other socialist countries. They carried on active correspondence, sometimes went to visit foreign friends or hosted them. What about internationalism now?

What is now drummed into the heads of children from an early age?

Most Soviet boys dreamed of being cosmonauts, sailors or pilots. The guys could get to know some of these professions personally. In the photo: Pioneers in the captain's cabin of the ship (1981)

Ask your children what they want now, who they want to become!!!?

Schoolchildren could spend their free time in the Pioneer Houses, where hobby groups and sections were organized for them.

All the guys in the pioneer detachments had assignments. Someone monitored the cleanliness of the classroom, someone was responsible for discipline. And all the guys together collected waste paper and scrap metal, played sports and went hiking. In the photo: pioneers collecting waste paper (1975).

The highest pioneer award (and for many an unattainable dream) was a trip to the famous Soviet pioneer camp “Artek”. Such a trip was awarded to the best - for special achievements in studies and pioneer work. Children from many countries of the world vacationed in this pioneer camp, and over the summer many of them managed to truly make friends. In the photo: summer in Artek

The big pioneer bonfire is the most memorable, but usually a very sad event. In the pioneer camp it was usually held as a farewell party before the guys went home.

Pioneer camps have always been a favorite summer vacation spot for Soviet children. Famous people - writers, poets, scientists, astronauts - often came here to meet with the pioneers. In the photo: poet Konstantin Simonov at a meeting with pioneers (1954).

The pioneers were always among the first to congratulate the best people of their country on their successes. In the photo: pioneers meet the first cosmonaut of the Earth - Yuri Gagarin

Solemn pioneer marches under scarlet banners were an integral part of most Soviet holidays. In the photo: pioneers at a demonstration in honor of the Communist Youth International (1936)

The pioneers were the most desirable audience for prominent figures of the time. A.M. Gorky often met with children and shared his writing experience with young literary talents (1934)

Having joined the ranks of the pioneers, the guys had to become a worthy example for their peers - in their studies, in social work, and even in mastering advanced technologies for their time. In the photo, pioneers are studying the design of a radio receiver. 1925
