This photograph has a very interesting history. American photographer Lee Miller was photographed in Hitler's bathroom on the very day he committed suicide.

Shortly before the photo shoot, the photojournalist visited the Dachau camps and other hot spots.

When Lee Miller and her colleague arrived in Berlin, they asked a local old man to show the city.

Walking through the destroyed city, they came across the house where the Fuhrer lived and decided to arrange such an unusual photo session.

The essence of such a photo was to show that Hitler is no more.

Before getting into Hitler's bathroom, Lee Miller didn't wash for 3 weeks. In the photo, she is literally washing away the horrors of war.
