Helping hand: an orangutan tried to help a man standing in the water (4 photos)
Orangutans are people too. This was proven by the red-haired giant, who noticed a man standing in the water. The monkey calmly approached the man and extended a helping hand to him. Indonesian photographer Anil Prabhakar witnessed this touching moment. The action took place on the territory of the fund for the protection of the orangutan population on the island of Borneo, writes DailyMail.
The man was standing in the water because there was a report that there was a snake in the bushes near the river, and he needed to remove it from there so that it would not harm the orangutans. And the animal thought that the person needed help.
“The orangutan came to the shore and looked at what the man was doing there. Then he approached and extended his hand,” Prabhakar told the publication.
But the fund employee still refused the help offered by the monkey. The photographer asked him why he did this. He replied that: “This is a wild animal, and we don’t know it.” Of course, the orangutan is a jungle dweller, but it is worth noting that this “wild animal” turned out to be much more decent than many people.
