In the Gatchina region, a dog found a cub, which turned out to be a wild animal (5 photos)
All mothers are the same. Their parental instinct is simply impossible to measure. Mothers are ready to do anything for their children, both in the human and animal worlds. And the maternal instinct of this dog named Laima is so great that she even adopted someone else’s cub, which she found in the forest. So the surprise of the summer residents from the Volna gardening near Vyritsa (Gatchina district) was simply indescribable. They noticed that there was a new addition to their West Siberian Laika's box. When the owners took a closer look at this cub, it became clear that their dog had adopted the bear, writes the 47news portal.
True, it is really difficult to distinguish the bear cub from the puppy, since he was only two weeks old. The baby easily fit in the palm of your hand. Then the summer residents had a completely logical question: how could this even happen and why was the bear cub all alone in the forest? Experts suggested that this could have happened due to the fact that the dog could scare away the bear by barking, and she disappeared, leaving her cub. The owner of the husky also told local media that shortly before this, the dog gave birth to puppies. This suggests that Laima’s maternal instinct kicked in and... as they say, there are no other people’s children.
As a result, the bear cub was taken from the dog, brought into the house and covered, because such a small animal really needs warmth. Over time, the bear cub was transferred to the Sirin Center for Rehabilitation and Reintroduction of Wild Animals. There they found out that this was a little bear and they decided to call her Mashenka. Local staff said that she would not be able to return to her natural habitat, so she would need professional help. Thus, the bear is waiting for another move - to the Tverskaya “Orphan Bear Rescue Center”.
This organization specializes in caring for abandoned bear cubs. Experts have returned more than 200 animals to the wild. So soon Mashenka will become a full-fledged wild bear and she will be able to fend for herself
