A dog saved an 8-month-old girl at the cost of her life (5 photos + 1 video)
Polo lived in this house for quite a long time, and when Vivian was born, she became his absolute favorite.
He constantly followed the baby, wherever she was, and ran to her every squeak. Polo once saved the life of eight-month-old Vivian.
In August 2016, the family experienced this terrible nightmare, which each of them still remembers with a shudder.
That day, Erica, having put the baby to bed, went out into the yard. She was rummaging around in the car when she looked back and saw smoke coming from the house.
“I was gone for only a few moments,” the girl recalls, “but when I entered the house, the fire spread simply in waves, I could not run into the bedroom to pull out the baby.”
The flames were so strong that no matter how hard Erica tried, she could not climb the stairs.
Neighbors who came running to help tried to break down windows and doors, but no one was able to get into the house due to the intense flames.
When the fire brigade arrived, they managed to put out the fire, and surprisingly, they carried Vivian out alive and unharmed.
The brave dog covered her with his body, protecting her from the fire. Vivian was injured, but if not for the dog, the burns on her body would have been more than 19%. Polo, unfortunately, could not be saved...
He was one of those dogs that you could call a hero. He will forever remain one of the most beloved members of the family, whom all of Erica's children and grandchildren will remember.
