In 2015, this Ukrainian woman became a real celebrity, not only in her country, but also abroad.
Elena Sedova was expecting triplets, and upon learning about this, her husband left her, deciding that he couldn’t handle it. But the girl did not despair, she really dreamed of these girls, and besides, she had someone to help.
Suddenly, in the seventh month of pregnancy, doctors suspected something was wrong and hospitalized Elena. The girl went into labor, and after a while Likeria was born.
“The liquor was lying below, and two babies in the stomach were located above it,” explains Elena, “under their weight, she asked to be born.” She weighed less than a kilogram and her condition was critical.
The born baby was placed in an incubator, where neonatologists constantly monitored her indicators, and in the delivery room the staff waited for the next girls, assuming that they would be even smaller than Lickeria. And it was not clear whether they would survive.
But... Elena’s contractions stopped, and labor stopped. According to the rules, in such cases they begin to stimulate, but doctors, having discovered that the girls had their own amniotic sac, decided to monitor the situation. A day passed, two days, a week... The older sister waited for the other two in the incubator, gradually recovering and gaining weight.
In total, Elena carried two girls for 38 days! This risky step was worth it: Zlata and Stefania were born strong and healthy, and did not lag behind Likeria.
Knowing about Elena’s not very happy financial situation, the authorities, together with volunteers, helped her with housing and food for the babies. Elena is grateful to all the hospital staff and all the sympathetic people who, having learned about her story, did not remain indifferent.
