The guy saved more than 100 children and did not let them die from the fate of their poor parents
At first, many considered Tong Phuoc Phuc crazy - even his own wife, thanks to whom, in fact, it all began. And then people flocked to his house on the outskirts of Nha Trang - confused, crying girls, and notices of money transfers and letters of gratitude began to fall into his mailbox.
Today no one thinks Tonga is crazy anymore. He is called the "father of Vietnam." Over the course of 15 years, this man adopted 100 children who were at risk of death before birth.
Abortion is common in Vietnam. Most often, mothers get rid of unborn girls - despite the fact that in Vietnam it is forbidden to find out the gender of the child using an ultrasound. But both doctors and patients find ways to circumvent the law. The doctor may, for example, tell the patient that the baby “looks a lot like mom.” This means: there will be a girl, and then, most often, there will be no one...
In 2001, Vietnamese man Thong Phuoc Phuc came to the hospital with his pregnant wife. Then he noticed a door through which pregnant women periodically entered. And leaving the room, they wiped away the tears that were shining in their eyes. When Tong realized the meaning of what was happening, his indignation knew no bounds, and the man decided to act...
“I will help those who find it difficult. I don’t know how, but I definitely will. We'll come up with something together. Just make sure they live!”
Tong did not understand how one could not give one’s own child a chance to be born and not even bury him properly. With his own money, the man purchased a small plot of land to bury the unborn children from this clinic. Having received permission, Tong began his mission...
How Tong managed – and still manages – to convince hospital staff to give him so-called “abortion material” remains a mystery.
Family expenses, of course, have increased. Tong worked as a construction contractor; he had enough to live on for his family, but he never had any extra money. "What are you doing? - the wife reprimanded. She did not immediately find out about her husband’s idea, but when she did, she was horrified. “Why are our savings going to a cemetery for an unknown person, or rather, what?” Tong remained silent. I didn't want to speak in that tone.
On each slab is the Christian name of an unborn child. There are especially many Pavlovs and Maris here.
Today, Tonga Cemetery is home to more than seven thousand unborn children, and the number of tiny graves is increasing every day. A sad and scary place. But the story of Thong Phuoc Phuc is a story about life, not about death. This is a story of joy that began with tears.
People began to learn about the strange cemetery. Every now and then Tong noticed female figures at the graves. They came here to cry for their children. Tong was able to talk to some and ask them to bring other women who had abortions here.
One day a girl, just a child, knocked on the door of the house. She also came to talk, like the others. The difference is that I haven’t had an abortion yet – I was just getting ready. Wu was four months pregnant. She didn’t know what to do: if her parents found out, and this would happen very soon, they would kick her out of the house.
Stay,” Phuc blurted out. And the belated reproaches of the wife, expressed in a whisper in the kitchen at night, could no longer correct anything. He made decisions quickly and did not change them. A few days later another pregnant woman came, then another...
The wife never argued with her husband again. And their small brick house gradually began to turn into a shelter. The house was filled with screams, squeaks and eternal steam from drying diapers.
Women who come here for help after giving birth to a child either take it with them or leave it, and then Tong adopts the baby.
And more often - he adopts. Today this amazing man has a hundred children!
Younger children go to kindergarten, which is located right next to the house (volunteers work there), and older children go to school. Tong also has a farm where he raises pigs and chickens for sale: donations and income from two jobs alone are not enough to support such a large family.
How he can withstand this is beyond comprehension. Tong just smiles. He not only does not consider his life difficult, he is happy. And he says: “I will continue this work until my last breath. And I will do everything so that the children continue my work and help all the disadvantaged.”
I wish there were more people like Tong. They make this world a better place. If you agree with this opinion, be sure to share his story with your friends and acquaintances!
