16 kilograms of hair were cut from this dog and he changed a lot after that
A dog named Lazar, a Pyrenean mountain breed, lived in a barn for seven years. The owner never let the dog out, only sometimes leaving water and food for him. Lazar never ran on the grass and almost never saw daylight. The dog owner's neighbors knew there was a living creature living in his barn, but they only informed the rescue service when the terminally ill owner stopped feeding the dog altogether.
To remove the dog from the barn, workers from the animal protection organization Big Fluffy Dog Rescue had to work with shovels: the ground was covered with a thick layer of excrement, and the door simply would not open. But when it finally opened, the sight of the unfortunate dog trapped inside shocked everyone to the core.
Covered in dirt and feces, the dog didn’t even look like a dog—its fur had grown back and felt matted. An employee of the organization, Jessica Kincheloe, took it upon herself to cut the dog’s hair. At first he didn’t understand what was happening and was very nervous. But when the monstrous “fur coat” began to fall off, he felt better and calmed down. Jessica cut about 16 kilograms of wool from the unfortunate dog.
Without his monstrous fur, the dog was so thin. When he was first taken out for a walk, Lazar had difficulty understanding what to do and hesitantly touched the grass with his paws.
The dog also had a broken tail and bruises on his body, but he was quickly getting used to life in freedom, waiting for his new loving family.
In this video, Lazarus takes his first hesitant steps in freedom:
It is outrageous how irresponsible people sometimes gain power over the lives of our little brothers. What was the dog owner thinking when he locked Lazarus in the barn, dooming him to a hopeless life in the dark? Let's hope that the dog now has a happy life with people who will love Lazarus and enjoy his love.
