It would seem that not much time has passed since the collapse of the USSR, but the behavior of schoolchildren in Russia has changed dramatically. This was especially influenced by Western trends and the Internet.
How does graduation celebration in Russian schools differ from celebrations in the USSR, we will now see.
In the USSR, dresses were very modest. Not only due to the policy of equality for everyone, but also due to the very upbringing of girls. Almost all shoes were low-heeled, because wearing stiletto heels (not to mention platforms, which were a curiosity) was considered vulgar.
Nowadays, the flight of imagination is simply limitless! The choice of dresses is influenced by dozens of factors: subcultures, parents’ wallets, favorite media stars, fashion houses of the world, etc. And besides, there are cockroaches in their heads - some people obviously have too many of them... The situation with shoes is the same - most wear 15 cm stilettos, but someone manages to come in both ankle boots and men's shoes, not to mention already about more exotic species.
Makeup is also a separate issue.
I don’t argue that correctly applied makeup makes almost any girl attractive. And I’m not an ardent supporter of the “makeup minimalism” of the Soviet era, but! It’s better to be not very beautiful, but natural, than to paint yourself as if you are not leaving school for adulthood, but on the stage...
Therefore, they either (as many girls do) go to a special. salons, or, if you decide to put on makeup yourself, do it as carefully as possible and not overdo it.
The most interesting thing is where to hold the graduation ceremony!
In the USSR everything was simple. They celebrated in schools - performances by students and teachers, a disco, a buffet, gatherings (often to the sound of a guitar, reading poetry).
Today there is just a “cultural” BOOM! Everyone wants to celebrate the last call in nightclubs, restaurants, the Kremlin... many strive to bring alcohol with them. And another interesting detail - in clubs and even in the Kremlin, Go-Go dancers are a mandatory attribute. They are beautifully built, move beautifully and are dressed to a minimum - everything you need to excite, but... At a school graduation, seriously?) I graduated in 2014, and I remember at the Kremlin disco, dozens of guys stood stupidly and stuck to the mistresses.
In general, what do I want to say? Measures are needed everywhere, but our youths sometimes do not see it. Everyone wants more colors, more luxury, pathos and shockingness. And businessmen have turned graduation into an excellent profitable niche. Salon dresses, makeup and hairstyles, photos and clubs cost a pretty penny, equal to the average salary in Russia.
